Open science contributes to better freezing of gait research
CONCLUDING REMARKS
In, open science aligns with my core values and responsibility regarding people with Parkinson’s disease and society. It has helped me to increase the impact of my work, contributed to the quality and reproducibility of the performed research, and opened the door to potential scientific collaboration. In Table 1, I give a final overview of the open science practices that I applied to the various chapters that are part of this thesis.
Performing open science has given me a lot of joy and gratification and I can only recommend other researchers to give it a try. It is good to realize that not all practices need to be applied at once. By gradually implementing open science practices from easier (e.g., publishing open access or preprints) to more advanced (e.g., preregistration or registered reports), together we can grow towards a future of a more open and collaborative way of performing science.
