Frequently asked questions

What is the standard delivery time?
We need 3 workdays for the production of a proof and 5 workdays for the production of the books. If you need your books faster, please contact our secretary.

Do I have any choice in various paper types?
The mostly used papers are 90 grams HVO, 90 grams G-print and 90 grams Off-white Biotop. If you want a different type of paper, that is possible.

In what size are the books made?
We produce the format the PhD candidate has in mind. The standard PhD thesis size is 17x24 cm.

Can I ask Proefschriftmaken.nl to design the cover and inside pages?
We have our own graphic department that can realize it for a reasonable price.

What files do I need to send to Proefschriftmaken.nl?
PDF files are preferred. If that´s not possible, please contact us to discuss how to proceed.

What are the requirements for use of photos and pictures?
Make sure that your images and photos are at least 400 dpi. Please put the settings on CMYK.

Can I send my thesis in A4 size?
That is possible. We will make sure that it is in the correct format in the end.

Is it possible to make changes after the test book?
Yes, that is possible.

Who adds the white pages in my document?
We assume that the PhD adds them. If you have trouble doing that, we can assist you.

I want my books to be stitched/sewn bound, is that possible?
Yes, sewing is stronger, especially when used a lot. It is also possible with digital printing.

Can my books be delivered at several places?
The delivery is standard at one address. An addition address gives extra costs.
