Het onderzocht de strijd voor een holistische benadering van zending door te wijzen op het falen van de congressen van Lausanne om een missiologie te bieden die gelijke plaats geeft aan sociale bediening en evangelieverkondiging als componenten van zending. Het toonde ook aan dat de Latijns-Amerikaanse bijdrage van Integrale Zending niet volledig kan beantwoorden aan de Afrikaanse kwestie vanwege het verschil in wereldbeeld. Betoogd werd dat Latijns-Amerikanen hun sociaal-economische situatie interpreteren vanuit een sociaalhistorisch standpunt, terwijl Afrikanen hun situatie interpreteren vanuit een standpunt dat ook geestelijke krachten omvat. Deze specifieke Afrikaanse benadering plaatst de Afrikaanse pinksterbeweging voor impliciet en expliciet theologisch onderzoek. In deze studie wordt de pinksterfamilie vertegenwoordigd door de RCCG.\n\nDe studie gebruikt een mengeling van methoden toe om aan te tonen dat de pinksterbeweging in Afrika en elders zich niet afzijdig houdt van sociale bediening als onderdeel van zending. Ook werd bevestigd dat de constatering dat de pinksterbeweging geen sociale visie zou hebben, gebaseerd is op de - tot voor kort - schaarse theologische literatuur over de aard van de sociale bediening in de context van de zending van de kerk. Geconstateerd werd dat de Afrikaanse Pinkstermensen blijk geven van contextuele gevoeligheid door Afrikaanse problemen en verschijnselen aan te pakken en ook door holistisch te putten uit het Afrikaanse religieuze wereldbeeld. Uiteindelijk werpt de studie licht op het nogal karige beeld van de Afrikaanse pinksterzending, met name de sociale component ervan.","summary":"THEORY AND PRAXIS OF SOCIAL MINISTRY IN THE MISSION OF THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD\n\nThis study of the theology implicit in the social practice of the RCCG. It explored the struggle for a holistic mission approach by highlighting the failure of the Lausanne congresses to provide a missiology that gives equal place to social ministry and gospel proclamation as components of mission. It also showed that the Latin American contribution of Integral mission cannot entirely respond to the African question because of the difference in worldviews. It was argued that Latin Americans interpreted their socioeconomic predicament from a sociohistorical standpoint, whereas Africans tend to interpret theirs from a standpoint that includes spiritual forces. This particular African approach positions African Pentecostalism for implicit and explicit theological investigation. In this study, the Pentecostal family is represented by the RCCG.\n\nThe study applied a hybrid of methods to demonstrate that Pentecostalism in Africa and elsewhere are not oblivious to social ministry as a component of mission. It was also affirmed that the observation of Pentecostalism\u2019s alleged lack of social vision is based on the paucity \u2013 until recently, that is \u2013 of Pentecostal theological literature on the nature of social ministry in the context of the church\u2019s mission.\n\nIt was noted that African Pentecostals demonstrate contextual sensitivity by addressing African problems and phenomena as well as by holistically drawing on the African religious worldview.
